Firefox Input: Now available on all channels of Firefox!

Firefox Input is back to one set of submission methods and one dashboard. This time, over ALL builds of Firefox 4.0 or higher.

After taking a dabble into supporting different feedback types across channels with the “Rate your Experience” and “Report a Broken Site” submission along with a fancy dashboard, the team realized (thanks to a large amount of great user feedback) that the original beta submission methods offered a lot more potential on finding greater trends and insight. From there, and in our typical fashion, we took it a step further in this release and added support for Input across all channels and builds of Firefox 4.0 and higher. The tried and true happy/sad/idea submission methods our userbase have grown to love are back for good accompanied by an excellent dashboard. So, try it out and tell us what you think of Firefox!

This release wouldn’t be possible without the impeccable work of Dave Dash, Frederic Wenzel, Chris Howse, Michael Kurze, Matthew Brandt and Justin Dow.

Firefox Input 3.3 is out! – Rounding out the Major Release and Beta Dashboards

We’re trying to round out the changes for Major Release and Betas on the last two releases in the 3.x product cycle before moving on to some really exciting endeavors. To look at what we’ve added to this release, take a look at the What’s New section below!

What’s New

  • Major Release Ideas Dashboard – Our current major release dashboard has been lacking on one piece of feedback, Ideas. Its up now and clusters new ideas on a daily basis from our RC and Major Release users thanks to the work of Frederic Wenzel!
  • Overlaying Betas on our Line Graph – The line graphs have been an excellent source for trending the feedback sent in. Unfortunately, as more and more Betas have been released, Mozilla’s community and staff have had a difficult time understanding the changes in user opinion between each beta. In this release, Dave Dash has over-layed time periods per beta to increase clarity for those triagers.
  • Colored Icons on Major Release Submission – We wanted to spruce up the current icons with a little more merriment and joy that allude back to one of our key tenets, making the feedback submission experience enjoyable. Check out the new icons made by Chris Howse!

This release wouldn’t be possible without the impeccable work of Frederic Wenzel, Dave Dash, Chris Howse, Ryan Snyder, Michael Kurze, Matthew Brandt and Justin Dow.

Firefox Input 3.1 – Dashboard for Major Releases

Feedback in Firefox now has a new dashboard for major release submission methods and support for Mobile Firefox releases:

I should note that the major release submission methods are only available for Firefox 4 and later due to the use of bleeding edge HTML 5 and CSS 3 implementation. This wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of Dave Dash, Chris Howse, Michael Kurze, Ryan Snyder, Frederic Wenzel, Matthew Brandt, Rebecca Billings, Dave Hunt and Justin Dow. Thanks all for making this release a success!

List of Major Features

  • Submission methods for releases of Mobile Firefox 4 and later
  • “Rate Your Experience” and “Site Issues” release submission methods now have a dashboard
  • Switching between channels on the Input dashboard
  • Sites clustering is now a Map Reduce job
